Earlier this month we joined a delegation of 23 C-Suite individuals from some of Norway’s most prominent organisations including Norwegian.com, Miles, Nav, DNB Bank and more, as members of Open Innovation Lab of Norway (OIL), on a week-long innovation research trip to Silicon Valley organised and hosted by OIL.
intraHouse is no stranger to Silicon Valley. We’ve been a preferred vendor to Cisco on mobile since 2007, so we’ve got a lot of experience of the tech epicentre, but nothing beats being part of dynamic group of businesses and individuals who are all on a mission to be the best they can be, sharing insight and expertise, whilst learning from the biggest and most forward-thinking organisations in the world.
The superbly organised trip took in Nordic Innovation House, Stanford and Berkeley Universities, Apple, AWS, SRII, Center for the Edge, ReGen Villages and The Vault where we heard pearls of innovative wisdom from a range of Silicon Valley experts.
The speed at which the world is changing as a result of technology is phenomenal, and in just one week with OIL in Silicon Valley, we gleaned more than we would do alone in a year, by which time it’d be too late. Such research trips, as a member of OIL, really help us as a company be more innovative and ensure our technology is at the edge of innovation.
And it’s not just the content from the presentations from the likes of Stanford, Berkeley and Center for the Edge that assist us with innovation, it’s also the networking with other OIL members, which provides an invaluable opportunity to share and brainstorm with peers.
To facilitate the smoother running of the trip, OIL – which has a thriving community inside our new platform intra.work – created a group for the delegation, where everyone was able to connect, chat, and collaborate before, during and after the trip, plus share documents and multi-media and continue to build the connections and innovate long after the trip.
intraHouse congratulates OIL on another fantastic research trip and thanks everyone involved – the participants and Silicon Valley experts – who made the week memorable for all the right reasons. We look forward to innovating with you in the future.
