Nowadays it’s easy for a mobile app to drown in an ocean of more than five million apps. And this ocean is set to get deeper with industry figures estimating a staggering 254 billion mobile app downloads by the end of 2017. But with user engagement falling by 75% after the first usage, how can you make your app stand out from the crowd across multiple devices?

Designers and developers need to ensure they’re publishing better apps in less time and that’s no easy task, given today’s climate. With a business app, for example, once upon a time we didn’t expect a work app to offer the same user experience as a consumer app, but today we do.

So today it’s all about being able to transform huge amounts of data and functionality into an unbeatable interface, as seamlessly and swiftly as possible, whilst maintaining a unified mobile presence. That’s what we at intraHouse have discovered when working on B2B mobile apps, including the Cisco 2.0, Cisco’s flagship app for marketing.

Many app designers and developers wouldn’t be able to meet all that criteria as they rely on web-based tools and theories and follow the traditional four-phase linear process of requirement gathering, UX and app workflow design, graphic design and development.

The problem with this that it can take up to a year to have the app developed. Also, there’s often a lack of collaboration as each of the four phases takes place in a separate silo.

On top of that, because the team uses different tools, there’s a lot of wasted work, when, for example, mockups from the designer can’t be reused by the developer who has to create basically from scratch.

And forget about the app looking uniform across multi devices, completely missing the point of creating a unified mobile presence for your brand.

Now that simply wouldn’t do for a client like Cisco. And that’s where we at intraHouse were able to demonstrate how we’re different, using our technology OneMobileTool to create and manage one of Cisco’s most important apps.

Soon after the launch of the app, Cisco reported that it was getting twice as many downloads as other Cisco apps; that there was a 20% increase in time-on-screen; and, a higher number of returning users.

We’ve developed OneMobileTool further and soon it will be available for professional developers and non-technical people who want to create an app for themselves or their small business.

Guaranteeing a multi-device unified mobile presence, with OneMobileTool you can create an app and manage it yourself in real time and once you’re past the initial approval from iTunes and GooglePlay, additional content related updates and modifications happen without having to republish. This means that you can update as often as you like, across multi devices, seamlessly.

What’s more, OneMobileTool provides personalisation. You can customise the full content structure for apps on all platforms, or limit certain content to a single platform. You can even add, configure or change Google Analytics tracking of app usage without having to resubmit an update release to iTunes or Google Play.

And very important, you can send out unlimited push notifications, with or without a webpage attached, across all app platforms, either immediately or scheduled.

The cloud-based OneMobileTool offers geo location and great security and lots of other cool features, which we’re adding to continuously.

If you’d like to test drive this new version of OneMobileTool, then please get in touch as we’re currently accepting Beta testers.
