It’s been a while since we shared any news. The past couple of years have been transformational for us as a company and we wanted to have all our ducks in a row before communicating our exciting developments and wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022.

You may remember that we’re known for developing great software for some big names like Cisco and international telecom operators like KPN and MTS. That used to be our bread and butter. During our development work for Smart Cities, we were often struck by the expensive and unsustainable practices of the data hosting world.

Being a Norwegian company from a country with incredibly rich natural and sustainable resources, we decided to expand our business into data centers, and that’s what we’ve been focusing on these past years.

Our mission is to be the green hard drive of the world. That’s no easy feat, so we’re sure you’ll understand and appreciate our lack of communication recently. Now though, after a couple of years of incredibly hard work, we’re delighted to announce that we have a new 15MW data center located in the area of the Norwegian Arctic Circle.

As part of a strategic collaboration with Yara in Glomfjord Industrial Park, intraHouse bought a factory in Glomfjord Industrial Park. The park is located close to the Arctic Circle, and our data center benefits from a cold climate, and the expertise of local industrial clusters. And here you see our brand new data center!

We already have 15MW of transformer capacity and we’ve developed our own liquid cooling technology that’ll help us reuse the heat created by the servers for food production.

Our Glomfjord data center is a prototype for sustainable data centers, close to renewable energy sources (hydro), and the region is predicted to have the lowest energy prices in Europe in the decades to come.

We’re developing our own cloud platform for sustainable smart cities, using edge data centers in European Smart Cities, which are forwarding compute-intense workloads to such sustainable and affordable data centers, like this one in Glomfjord.

We’re growing and we’re hiring! We’re looking for competent data center engineers and cloud developers.

And, of course, we’d love to speak to data center customers who are interested in cost-effective hosting using innovative technologies for heat reuse.

We went live before Christmas, and below you’ll see a Google translated version of the article in Avisa Nordland, published in their newspaper and online here (behind a paywall).
